Quite obviously, to be a good writer in English, you need to be a good reader. In addition, a good reader is one who observes how competent writers of English put words together meaningfully and effectively. The observant reader should also attempt to write English in the same manner as the authors he has read. Initially his written English will be mistake-ridden and stylsticaly inappropriate. Abusage will precede usage. But, he should not be deterred by his mistakes. He should keep on writing, until his skill develops, and he should let his mistakes show him his areas of weakness. As the learner of writing progresses, he should attempt to communicate in a simple, direct manner, avoiding complicated constructions and unfamiliar words. He should most importantly enjoy his learning.
