Human
being must lay stress to the intrinsic values of nature where men establish a
harmonious relationship with their environments. To better understand the
traces of this temerity that human beings have to exploit and mistreat their
natural environments, per se, the sources of ecological crises should be taken into account.
And, the great interests between the relationship of the men and their
environments and the ways this relationship illustrated and quoted in
literature. Compendiously, the outcome of such madness about a real waited for world, the world of
serenity, led to the emergence of the
idea of the Utopian World where vehemence is born.
Heuristically, a cultural wave
of unconsciousness the world is living under deeply sawn in our modes of being,
modes which based on exploitation, domination, and de-humanization. Therefore,
there spread the kind of thought, presumably, which is basically industrial and
does not use industry as a means so as to live in and enjoy the world, but it
seeks to transform the world through industry. It is simultaneously an attempt
to discover how this relationship has been changing through centuries ; as
it appears, an escape from the idyllic
countryside, a description of life in pastoral mode, and a depiction of human’s
happiness in line with nature. Returning to the peace once man had with nature,
human beings are to create a symbiotic relation with nature so that it benefits
all sides.
As we know, man is only
feeling, considering, and caring for what was before his eyes : It becomes
evident that man is on earth to live and die not to look for eternity.
Moreover, man is to be responsible of himself, his soul, his body, his mind,
his actions, his environment, his and his human fellows’ security. In the same
vein, man is on earth so as to live a restricted life that goes along with the
conditions of life on earth, not to seek to transform nature into a utopian
place full of chaos, mist, and ugliness in chase for pleasure and plain comfort:
We must open our eyes to real symptoms and, at the same time, to conciliate with the self, with the past, and
the will to seek the practical and functional way out and to face the hegemony
of materialised cultures without falling in the trap of materialism,
radicalism, unrestricted bankruptcy, modernism, or anarchism.
With this in mind, Man will
become a machine which targets nothing but construction and monumental
enlargement, and this human-machine, e.g., will keep moving from one constructive
order to another and from one system to a new one, aimlessly trying to impose
reason over reality, and aimlessly imposing manufacture over nature. All these
harmful things are transmitted in literature in better understanding our
environment and reminding of our duty, as human being, toward nature.
Actually, the readers would be
ecologically informed of the values that wiser authors inspired in them and
therefore better contribute to their ecological thinking in the hope of
respecting, cherishing, preserving, and protecting nature. That is to say, We must cope with the world, as I referred
to, to be congruenced with it, under
assumption that the human being is, on earth, to complete a mission. In other
words , development is good but it should not destroy life and all-
creatures – that is, for, a true
development is one which enriches life and simplifies it, not one that goes
against it and destroys it.
